Cougars girls golf in fourth after Day 1 of Class B state meet

CARRINGTON -- The Heart River girls golf team is in fourth place after the first day at the Class B girls golf state meet at CrossRoads Country Club.

CARRINGTON - The Heart River girls golf team is in fourth place after the first day at the Class B girls golf state meet at CrossRoads Country Club.

The Cougars turned in a team score of 387 on the first day, led by Katie Keator’s 89, tying her for eighth with four others.

South Border leads the team competition at 357, and Fargo Oak Grove is seven strokes back at 364. Hazen sits third at 383.

Bayli Krance shot a 96 for the Cougars, and her sister Brittni followed with a 98. Laynee Kudrna’s 104 completed Heart River’s scoring

Hazen’s Beth Leier is in a tie for first with South Border’s Emily St. Aubin after both shot an 80 on the first day. Fellow Bison Megan Neameyer shot a 95, and Karlee Schmitt came in at 102.


Bowman County sits in a tie for seventh place with a team score of 399. The Bulldogs are led by Kaitlyn Hill, who is among the four tied with Keator at 89. Brooke Peterson also shot a 91 for Bowman County.
