KILLDEER - Entering the Region 7 Tournament as the No. 6 seed, the Killdeer volleyball team had little trouble against No. 11 Mott-Regent, earning an opening-round victory over the Wildfire with set scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-16 on Friday, Nov. 2, from Killdeer High School.
The Cowboys (17-17) will face No. 3 seed Bowman County on Monday, from the Knights of Columbus Activities Center.
Killdeer junior setter Chelsey Morlock led the home team with 10 digs and nine assists. Senior setter Steena Larsen chipped in with eight assists and led the team with four aces. Junior middle blocker Megan Olson and sophomore middle block Myranda Reiss each had six kills.
The Wildfire (8-17) was led by senior outside hitters Bree Friedt and Madison Meier. Friedt collected a match-high eight kills and had the team’s only block while Meier contributed with 14 digs.
