DHS girls cross country 4th, boys 5th in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Dickinson High's Elizabeth Yoder placed second overall with a time of 19 minutes, 2.3 seconds at the Rapid City Cross Country Invite on Friday.

RAPID CITY, S.D. - Dickinson High’s Elizabeth Yoder placed second overall with a time of 19 minutes, 2.3 seconds at the Rapid City Cross Country Invite on Friday.

Chelsea Anderson, at 21:12.9, and Aleigha Villars, at 21:20, were the next highest Dickinson runners at 28th and 29th, respectively.

Rapid City Stevens took the top spot in the girls team division at the meet with a score of 57, while the Dickinson girls team finished in fourth place with a score of 95.

Rounding out the top five for the Midgets were Emily Keller’s time of 21:49.5 and Amalia Lewis’ 22:35.3 finish.

On the boys side, Aiden Jung paced the Midgets with a time of 17:28.9 and a 13th-place finish. The next Midget to cross the finish line was Brady Yoder’s time of 17:48. He finished in 21st. Mike Herauf was six places behind Yoder in 27th with a time of 18:05.2. Rapid City Stevens also took the top spot for the boys with an overall score of 41, while Dickinson finished fifth overall at 149. Brayden Groll was the fourth Midget finisher with a 18:51.7 mark, and Kuler Smith was fifth at 19:00.4.
