The Dickinson High girls hockey team stopped a five-game losing streak to the Richland Rangers of Sidney, Mont., on Tuesday, turning in a 2-0 win at the West River Ice Center.
Dickinson sophomore goalie Baylee Kram stopped 29 shots in the shutout.
Midgets freshman Ali Lafond scored the first varsity goal of her career 1 minute, 14 seconds into the first period for a 1-0 lead.
Almost five minutes into the second period, the Midgets (2-2) doubled their advantage as freshman Taia Klaman assisted on a goal by senior Paige Schweitzer.
"They are a quality team. We were able to control the game early," Dickinson head coach Al Takle said. "Baylee had a great game in net. The team was happy for Ali getting her first varsity goal."
