BISMARCK -- Scoring conditions were tough.
Really tough.
Jamestown's Brandon Stahlhut was the only golfer to shoot in the 70s as he won medalist honors with a 78 during the blustery Bismarck St. Mary's Invitational on Friday at Hawktree Golf Club.
"This course is tough already," Dickinson head boys golf coach Sara Berglund said. "It's not a very forgiving course and then with 35 mph-plus winds, it's really a tough course. The greens were fast today."
Dickinson High finished with a score of 364. Though it wasn't what the Midgets envisioned after shooting a season-low 320 at The Links of North Dakota last Saturday, Berglund said her players continued to hit the ball well.

"It was one of those days that you just have to power through, do the best you can and learn from it," Berglund said. "We are definitely going to be working on our putting."
Shay Ridl led Dickinson with an 85, while Alex Priebe finished with a 90. Carter Donnan added a 91, and Alex Turcotte and Nick Himmelstach each had a 98. Ton Kostelecky finished with a 99.
Bismarck Century won the team competition with a 332 and Minot came in runner-up at 334. Bismarck High rounded out the top three spots with a 338.
The Midgets return to the capital city for the Bismarck High Invitational at Tom O'Leary Golf Course at 9 a.m. today.
"We are looking for improvement and looking to score," Berglund said. "We hit the ball well today, but they didn't score well today. Hopefully tomorrow they can do both."
