JAMESTOWN - The Dickinson High boys golf team shaved 15 strokes off its first-day score to shoot 345 on Saturday at the East-West Classic at the Jamestown Country Club.
The Midgets, after a 360 on Friday put them in 15th place, jumped to 12th place in the team standings, finishing with a team score of 705. Grand Forks Red River remained in first place, shooting a 314 on the second day to finish at 629, 12 strokes better than second-place Fargo Davies.
Dickinson junior Dylan Pokorny shot an 80 on Saturday, 11 strokes better than his Friday 91, to finish with a two-day score of 171 for a tie for 34th place.
Fellow junior Hunter Myran and senior Davis Donnan finished in a tie for 45th place with a two-day total of 175. Myran shot an 88 on Saturday, and Davis shot an 85, a five-stroke improvement from Friday.
Senior Jerzy Martin and junior Aidan Levorsen each finished with two-day scores of 186, which tied them for 70th. Martin shot a 94 on Saturday and a 92 on Friday. Levorsen carded a 92 on Saturday and a 94 on Friday.
