MANDAN - Dickinson High’s boys swimming and diving team placed fifth Thursday at the Mandan Pentathlon.
Bismarck Century took first place among the six schools with 298.5 points. Dickinson High tallied 39.5.
Junior Jacob Ellerkamp had a standout day, leading the Midgets in all five events. His highest finish was fourth place in the 100-meter freestyle (53.49 seconds). Ellerkamp also placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.78), 11th in the 50 freestyle (24.87), 26th in the 100 backstroke (1:07.87) and 33rd in the 100 butterfly (1:07.17).
Freshman Isaac Ellerkamp placed 44th in the 50 freestyle (27.22) and 56th in the 100 freestyle (1:03.25). Legend Jankowski, a seventh-grader, placed 52nd in the 50 freestyle (27.53), and classmate Taven Wilson placed 77th in the 100 freestyle (1:09.25).
