MINOT - After a strong first period, the Dickinson boys hockey team fell flat for the next two periods which cost them dearly.
Minot scored three unanswered goals en route to its 3-2 win over the Midgets to end their season in the West Region boys hockey tournament Friday at All Seasons Arena.
Kass Dvorak scored the first goal of the game was followed by Andrew Heckaman for Dickinson’s last goal of the game. At the end of the first period, Mandan’s Aric Riopelle closed the deficit to one goal on. Riopelle finished with one goal and an assist.
Carter Hanson had the tying goal for the Braves in the second period and less than two minutes later, Colyn Haugen netted the game-winning goal for his team. There was no scoring in the third.
Dickinson’s goalie Brett Schweitzer stopped 13 of 16 shots on goal, while Mandan’s Sawyer Schmidt recorded 32 saves off 34 shots.
