Ethan Caton, a senior forward on the Dickinson State basketball team, earned a double-double in a 102-70 win over Salish Kootenai College (Mont.), on Sunday, Nov. 4. He scored 10 points and added 10 rebounds, leading the Blue Hawks in both categories. Later in the week, as Dickinson State fell 98-70 to NCAA Div. II Minnesota State - Moorhead on Nov. 10, Caton led the Blue Hawks with 14 points. The 6-foot-7 Colorado native shot 5-for-10 from the field and drained each of his four free throw attempts.
DP: Why did you choose to transfer to DSU?
EC: "I chose it because I like the program and I like the coaches. It seemed like a good opportunity for me to come out here and experience something different."
DP: How long have you been playing basketball and what is your favorite part?
EC: "I have been playing for my whole life and my favorite part is the competitive side of it."

DP: What is it like being part of a team with so few returners?
EC: "It's something I'm used to. I've been with a team like this before and it's definitely a struggle at first, but it takes a little while to get into but once you find the kind of groove things it really gets going.
DP: Who is your biggest sports influence or idol?
EC: "Biggest sports influence... I would say Larry Bird because of his work ethic and how great he was."
DP: Where is the best place to eat in town and what's your order?
EC: "I like to eat quick and healthy, so Qdoba is my go to, probably. Just get a burrito there is pretty good."
DP: What is the best TV show or movie you watched recently?
EC: "Probably, Black Mirror on Netflix."

DP: If you had to lose two of your senses what would they be?
EC: "Touch and hearing, I guess."
DP: Country or hip hop?
EC: "Country."
DP: If you could have a super power what would it be?
EC: "Flying, I guess would be pretty sweet."
