The Dickinson State football team released its 2016 schedule Tuesday, and it includes a strong out-of-conference schedule, including Black Hills State, an NCAA Division II opponent.
The Blue Hawks begin their season with an Aug. 27 date at Western Montana in Miles City, and they start North Star Athletic Association play the next week with a 2 p.m. home game against Valley City State.
Dickinson State’s other non-conference foes include Northwestern (Iowa) College at home on Sept. 10 and at Black Hills State on Oct. 29. Montana Western and Northwestern both went 6-4 last season, and BHSU went 0-11.
In NSAA play, the Blue Hawks will have two meetings with Valley City State as well as a home-and-home with the University of Jamestown, the first on Oct. 15 at the Biesiot Activities Center for Homecoming and the second Nov. 12 in Jamestown to end the regular season.
