BOWMAN - The Dickinson Trinity girls basketball team used another strong defensive effort Tuesday to take down Bowman County 50-28 in a Region 7 matchup.
The Titans held the Bulldogs to 25 percent shooting and forced them into 20 turnovers in the win.
The game started slow, with Trinity (16-3, 10-0 Region 7) holding a 10-8 lead after the first quarter, but a 22-4 second quarter put the Titans comfortably ahead.
“We were firing on all cylinders in the second quarter,” Titans head coach Carter Fong said. “We did a great job of moving the ball and finding the open girl.”
Trinity senior posts Alanna Sickler and Brianna Soehren scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, to lead all players.
Fong said the team appeared out of rhythm in the second half but Fong said junior guard Sami Daniel provided a spark with two second-half 3-pointers. Daniel finished with eight points.
Bulldogs (12-8, 8-3) sophomore Meggie Fischer scored nine points to lead her team, and junior Mikayla Bartholomay added eight.
