Divide County scores 20 unanswered points to top RTH

CROSBY -- The Divide County football team used 20 unanswered points spanning from the third to fourth quarter to take a first-round win in the 9-man playoffs.

CROSBY - The Divide County football team used 20 unanswered points spanning from the third to fourth quarter to take a first-round win in the 9-man playoffs.
The Maroons took the 20-point edge to defeat Richardton-Taylor-Hebron 34-20 on Saturday.
At halftime, the game was tied 20-20 with Lane Voltz’s 17-yard TD strike to Cory Rebel and Lane Aune’s 10-yard run accounting for the Raiders’ first half TDs.
Taylor Elsbernd and Will Landsverk each had TD runs for Divide County. Elsbernd’s TD came from one-yard out, while Landsverk’s was 54 yards.
Divide County went a 20-run, which included a pair of fourth quarter TD runs by Isaac Jacobs. He scored from three and four yards out. RTH’s final TD was on a 4-yard pass from Voltz to Spencer Floberg.
Divide County continues its 9-man playoff run traveling to Shiloh Christian in the quarterfinals on Nov. 2.

Bornemann, Bison handle Rugby
HAZEN - At halftime, the Hazen football team clutched onto a one touchdown lead.
However, it didn’t take the Bison long to extend their lead in the third quarter.
Hazen scored 27 unanswered points in the third quarter en route to a 48-20 win over Rugby in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs on Saturday.
Briar Bornemann had a game-high 208 yards on 13 carries and three TDs for the Bison. Nate Leintz supplied the team’s first and last TD of the game. The senior running back had a pair of long TDs, the first was 70-yard TD run and the second was a 66-yard pass from Connor Doll.
Doll, who only threw two passes, went 2 of 2 for 110 yards and two TDs. His first TD was a 54-yard pass to Dominick Opp.
Hazen continues its playoff run to host Lewis and Clark-Our Redeemer’s in the quarterfinals on Nov. 2.

Luna has 5 TDs as TGU defeat Beach
TOWNER - No. 2-ranked Towner-Granville-Upham was too much for Beach on Saturday.
The Titans scored multiple touchdowns in the first, second and fourth quarters en route to a 42-14 win over Beach in the first round of the 9-man football playoffs.
Eli Luna scored five of the TGU’s six touchdowns. He had three TD passes to three different receivers, returned a punt for the TD and ran for a TD.
Hunter Schell scored the Titans’ only other TD on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Beach’s Kirby Maus threw a pair of TD passes to Troy Steele. His first was a 43-yard strike and the second was a three-yard pass.
TGU continues its playoff run hosting Westhope-Newburg-Glenburn in the quarterfinals on Nov. 2.
