LA CROSSE, Wis. - Coming off a rough spring trip in which it went 1-9, the Dickinson State baseball team was hoping conference play would be a fresh start. However, Viterbo University (Wis.) had other plans, winning both contests on Thursday, March 22.
Five runs in the second inning helped the V-Hawks (5-22, 2-0 NSAA) to a 9-3 victory in the afternoon and they wrapped up the night with a 5-0 shutout of the Blue Hawks (1-11, 0-2 NSAA).
In the former, the Blue Hawks outhit the V-Hawks 13-6, but six errors cost them.
Dickinson State committed three more errors in the second showing, while mustering only five hits to Viterbo’s 12.
