Following a senior season filled with accolades, Bowman County High School running back and linebacker Tristen Peterson has signed to continue his football career at Dickinson State University.
Voted by the Bulldogs as the team’s most valuable player, Peterson earned a first team All-Region selection from the linebacker position and was selected to the Class B All-State academic team.
Peterson attended football camps held at Dickinson State, but a noteworthy performance against Dickinson Trinity during the 2017 season put him on the Blue Hawks’ radar.
"He really caught our eye playing against Trinity this year,” DSU head coach Pete Stanton said. “We had seen Tristan in our camps as well and we really liked him, but the way he performed against Trinity that game here was really an impressive performance, running the ball and playing linebacker. He’s once again, a guy that could play multiple positions. He’s got a big frame and another hard worker."
The 6-foot, 200 pounder rumbled through the Titans defense to the the tune of 86 yards on 16 carries while anchoring a Bulldogs defense that did not relinquish any points in a 15-6 Bowman County victory on Sept 1. at the Biesiot Activities Center.
