DSU runners put up personal bests at MSU-Billings Invite

BILLINGS, Mont. -- Several Dickinson State cross country runners posted personal best times at the Montana State-Billings Invitational on Saturday.

Christina Sota led the DSU women to a fourth-place finish in the team standings with a third-place time of 18 minutes, 23 seconds.

It beat her previous personal-best by about 40 seconds, said DSU coach Thadd O'Donnell. Gladys Rotich was the only other DSU runner in the top 10, finishing ninth with a time of 18:44.

On the men's side, Dickinson State finished last out of eight teams with 220 points. But several runners posted personal bests, O'Donnell said.

Edwin Chelashaw led the Blue Hawks in 29th place with a time of 26:20.

"This was one of his fastest times of the year," O'Donnell said.

Chris Gill and Dustin Sandback had personal bests with times of 27:54 and 28:41, respectively.
