SPEARFISH, S.D - Dickinson State's outdoor track season got underway Saturday at Black Hills State in the Yellow Jacket Spring Open.
On the men's side, Cain Boschee took home the top time in the 200 meter dash at 22.26 seconds. Jose Chorro also won his event, the 110 meter hurdles, with a 14.75 second mark and qualified for the NAIA Championships.
Ty Stanton placed second in the triple jump at 14.15 meters and also qualified for the NAIA Championships. He came in fifth in the triple jump behind Jay Liggins, who jumped 7.05 meters and finished third overall.
Paxton Miller had a second place finish in the javelin throw with a 49.79 meter mark.
Other high finishers were Gabe Meschke (third in the 400 meter dash, 60.67), Chris Moreno (fourth in the 800 meters, 1:59.69) and Richard Timmermans (fourth in the 300 meter steeplechase, 11:12.47).

On the women's side, Shelby Gustafson had the highest finish with a first-place tie in the high jump at 1.58 meters.
Jacey Wilson had a third-place finish in the 800 meter run with a 2:28.92 mark.
Whitney Leuenberger had a fourth-place finish in the shot put, with a distance of 11.97 meters. She was also fourth in the discus throw at 36.67 meters.
