With seven seconds left in the game against Mayville State, Dickinson State junior guard Ashlie Larson hit a 3-pointer to put the Blue Hawks up 52-51, the team’s first lead since 2-0. Larson finished the scoring with a pair of foul shots in the final second, sealing the 54-51 North Star conference win on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Scott Gym.

The Comets (11-6, 5-2 NSAA) outscored the Blue Hawks (10-12, 3-4 NSAA) 31-20 in the first half, but after an even 11-11 third, the home team bested the visitors 23-9 in the final frame.

Senior guard Riley Helmick led all players with 15 points as she 5-for-8 from behind the arc, including 4-for-4 in the second half. Larson followed with 11 points, while freshman forward Caleigh McClenahan added 10 points and earned eight rebounds.
