Eikens scores 36, helps Coyotes defeat Midgets

WILLISTON - The first time the Dickinson High and Williston boys basketball teams faced, the Midgets won by a point.
Dickinson wasn’t as lucky the second time around.
Williston 6-foot-6 freshman forward DeSean Eikens scored a game-high 36 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Coyotes to an 80-68 West Region victory on Thursday.
Williston had a small 35-30 lead at halftime but opened up in the second and outscored Dickinson 45-38.
Dickinson guard Aanen Moody also had a high scoring night and nearly matched Eikens with 33 points - 24 scored from 3-point range. Luke Herauf had 14 points and Drew Bechtold added nine and eight rebounds.
Josiah Erickson followed Eikens with 15 points, while Joren Falcon scored nine, Boston Horob had seven and Evan Johnson supplied seven.
Dickinson returns home to host top-ranked Minot at 7:30 p.m. today.
