MINOT -- Kyrstin Gemar did it again.
The slugging designated hitter hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning to help Dickinson State escape Game 1 of its doubleheader against Minot State with a 4-3 victory.
In Game 2, pitcher Nikki Marcoux tossed a five-hit shutout to complete the sweep and help the Blue Hawks win their 19th consecutive game 4-0.
Gemar's bomb picked up a rough hitting day for the Blue Hawks (31-3 overall, 16-0 DAC).
"The one thing Gemar has done for us all year is she's been getting big hits with runners in scoring position," DSU coach Guy Fridley said. "That's probably the biggest hit we've had all year, to win a game and in a clutch situation when we're down."

Despite allowing seven hits and three runs, DSU pitcher Sara Jane Webster had another solid outing, striking out 10.
In the second game, Webster drove in three runs, including two on a triple in the second inning. Vanessa Adame went 3-for-4 and scored a run.
Marcoux struck out one while walking two and giving up five hits. Fridley said the Canadian right-handers ability to keep the ball in the infield.
"She keeps it down and forces ground balls and makes the defense do work," Fridley said.
