GLEN ULLIN - The Glen Ullin-Hebron girls basketball team lost four seniors that were part of its top-six rotation from last season, and the Bearcats do not return a senior on the roster this year.

After going 17-8 last year and losing to Dickinson Trinity in the Region 7 Tournament championship game, the Bearcats, coached by Bray Fox, will hope that younger players show some growth quickly in the 2016-17 season.

Glen Ullin-Hebron returns juniors Kennedy Zuroff (averaged 10 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists per game last season) and Kiana Schatz (averaged seven points and five rebounds) as the most experienced players. Zuroff was named to the All-Region 7 Team last season.

According to the North Dakota Girls Hoopster preview magazine (Fox could not be reached for comment), other returning letterwinners include junior Jenna Duppong and sophomores Kristen Schaaf and Lexi Gietzen.

The Bearcats may not have the height that they did last season, but the team's shooting touch and defensive pressure should remain intact. Both will need to be present if Glen Ullin-Hebron hopes to play beyond its seventh-place projection in the region, according to the Hoopster.
