Grand Forks Central dominates Dickinson
GRAND FORKS -- The fourth seed from the west, the Dickinson High boys hockey team saw the number one team in the east when it faced Grand Forks Central in the quarterfinal round of the state tournament on Thursday, Feb. 22.

The Knights pelted Midgets junior goalie Riley Wittenberg with 47 shots, of which he saved 40.
Meanwhile, the Midgets put 14 shots towards Grand Forks Central netminder Kaleb Johnson, who earned the shutout.
Two of the Knights’ three first-period goals came on the power play. Midget sophomore defender Jaren Hugelen was sent to the box twice for interference and hooking. Dickinson’s penalty kill went to work twice more, holding off the Knights each time.
Still, Grand Forks Central found net two times each in the latter two periods.
Knights junior defender Hunter Bjorge notched two goals and two assists while junior forward Kyler Briske contributed a goal and a pair of helpers in the contest.
