JAMESTOWN -- The Dickinson State softball team became the first team to finish its Dakota Athletic Conference regular-season schedule undefeated after beating two teams on Saturday afternoon.

DSU got three straight solo home runs in the third inning and Sara Jane Webster struck out 13 to help the Blue Hawks beat Jamestown College 5-3.

In the second game against Black Hills State, the fourth-ranked Blue Hawks battled back from an 3-0 deficit to score eight runs in the fifth inning and capped off a 12-3 victory in the sixth with Amanda Perrott's game-winning two-run homer.

The Blue Hawks, who now have won 21 consecutive games, finish their regular season at 33-3 overall and 18-0 in the conference. They were scheduled to play the two teams again today but the games were canceled due to weather.

DSU hosts the DAC tournament, which begins next Saturday at Gress Complex.

"I think we're hitting on all cylinders right now with our bats," DSU coach Guy Fridley said. "We've got a lot of players hitting with a lot of confidence. We're hitting the ball. We're getting in front of it in scoring position."

Nikki Marcoux, Danielle Crawford and Kelly Jahn hit the back-to-back-to-back solo homers against Jamestown which gave DSU a boost.

Marcoux went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs against Jamestown. The senior then threw a five-hitter while improving her pitching record to 6-0 against BHSU.

Crawford went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBI while Jody Lantz hit a homer as DSU ended the game one inning early thanks to the eight-run rule.

"If we can continue pitching and hitting like we have the last month, I like our chances in the conference tournament," Fridley said.
