CASPER, Wyo. -- Dickinson State senior Ty Thompson scored consecutive saddle bronc rides in his first two days at the College National Finals Rodeo.
Thompson nabbed a 71.5-point ride during Sunday's first round and had a 74 in the second round Monday.
On the women's side, junior Halley Treeby tied for fourth place in the first round of the breakaway roping with a time of 2.5 seconds. She caught her calf in 4.4 seconds in the second round, keeping her in the hunt for the average title.
Treeby had a time of 15.41 seconds in the barrel racing, which about a full second off the pace of first-round leader Syndi Blanchard of Mesalands College (N.M.), who finished in 14.46 seconds.
DSU's Stacy Doll had a 3.9-second time in first round of the breakaway roping while Kobi Olineck tied for 10th in the goat tying with a time of 7 seconds.

DSU steer wrestler Rowdy Benson had a time of 4.9 seconds to tie for eighth place in the first round.
DSU's Kaden Deal scored a 68.5-point saddle bronc ride in the first round and had a 57.5 in the second round while his teammate, Chase Kukuchka had a 66.5 in the first round. Kukuchka has yet to compete in the second round.
Mandan native Ty Breuer, competing for Central Wyoming College, sits atop the bareback riding charts after winning the first round with an 80.5 and scoring a 78.5 in the second round.
DSU's Troy Vaira had a 68.5.
Grassy Butte native Nathan Schaper was bucked during the first round of the bull riding and has not gone in the second round.
