SPEARFISH, S.D. -- Dickinson State sprinters set three Dakota Athletic Conference records Saturday at the indoor track and field championships at the Donald E. Young Center.
Ramon Miller had record times in both the 200- and 400-meter dashes while Jamal Forbes set a mark in the 55 as the Blue Hawks raced to their fifth consecutive conference championship with 287 team points.
"The thing I'm most pleased about is we went out and laid everything on the line," DSU coach Pete Stanton said.
Not only did Miller set two conference records, so did his teammates who finished behind him.
Miller's time of 47.14 in the 400 was better than teammate Sean Pickstock's 48.24. Pickstock finished second in the 200 with a 21.96 and John Ingraham was third at 21.99.

Both times would have been good enough to set DAC indoor records.
Both the men's 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams won their races and qualified for the NAIA national championships.
Allan Ayala qualified for nationals in the 55 hurdles at 7.73.
Kurt McCormack led a great Blue Hawk outing in the triple jump with a 49-9 leap. DSU's Craig Charlow (45-2), Johnny Emtman (44-6) and Scott Murphy (43-2) rounded out the top four.
Jermaine Christie edged teammate Miguel Gonzalez in the long jump at 23-2. Pickstock was third at 22-8.
Men's national qualifiers who didn't win their events were Clayton Unruh, who was third in the shot put at 51 feet, 7 inches, and Sheldon King, whose high jump of 6-8 was only good enough for second.
On the women's side, the 800 relay team of Kelsey Aide, Kenisha Miller, Rachel Clark and Franzi Schmid won.
The DSU women took third behind Black Hills State and Jamestown College.

"It was one of the better conference performances I've seen from our teams," Stanton said.
