JAMESTOWN -- Just like last year, the Hazen girls golf team will have to come from behind if it wants another Class B girls golf title.
The two-time defending champions are in tied for second with Linton after the first day of the state tournament at Hillcrest Golf Course in Jamestown.
Central Cass leads with a team score of 374, while the Bison shot a 377. Bowman County is in 12th place with a score of 405, while Beulah is in 13th with a score of 406.
Hatton-Northwood's Abby Knutson leads the medalist race with a 76, three strokes ahead of Kamie Roesler of Central Cass.
Bowman County's Kayla Palczewksi is in eighth after she shot an 87.

Hazen's Kate Berg, Stef Bohrer and Jinny Miller, along with Glen Ullin-Hebron's Laura Duppon all shot a 94 and are tied for 28th.
