Jacob Svihovec, a junior quarterback for the Bowman County football team, threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more in a 55-8 victory over Nedrose during the opening round of the Class A State Playoffs on Saturday, Oct. 20. Svihovec completed all four of his passes for 118 yards while collecting 69 yards on the ground on four carries during the Bulldogs first postseason victory since 2002.

DP: What were the keys to victory against Nedrose?

JS: "Our key to victory versus Nedrose was our line. Our line got good blocks in that game, doing basically anything we could, doing them correctly and at full strength."

DP: What are the team goals for the rest of the season?

JS: "Team goals is to beat Velva on Saturday and then go from there. Hopefully, we're playing November football."

DP: When did you start playing football?

JS: "I started playing football back in sixth grade and it's been continuing on from there after a few years."

DP: What is your favorite thing about the sport?

JS: "My favorite thing about the sport is getting to lead the team, throwing the ball, doing what I could to help."

DP: Who is your funniest teammate?

JS: "Funniest teammate would probably have to go to Nate Boehm, just for all the things he says and the way he gets us hyped up."

DP: If you had to lose any of your senses, what would it be?

JS: "If I had to lose any of my senses, I'd probably have to go with smelling. Just because smelling anything bad doesn't go well with me."

DP: If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

JS: "If I could anything for the rest of my life, I'd probably have to do tacos. Tacos are my favorite food."

DP: What is the best tv show or movie that you've watched recently?

JS: "Best tv show, probably SportsCenter. I always watch SportsCenter in the morning or when I get home."

DP: Instagram or Snapchat?

JS: "Either or, I'd probably go with Instagram just because it's different and you see different things, funny and stuff like that."

DP: Xbox or Playstation?

JS: "Xbox on that one."

DP: Madden or Fortnite?

JS: "Madden."

DP: Country music or Hip Hop"

JS: "Country."

DP: Coke or Pepsi?

JS: "Pepsi."

DP: What is your first sports memory?

JS: "First sports memory would have to be sixth-grade football and getting my first sack."

DP: Who is your biggest inspiration to succeed?

JS: "My biggest inspiration is my parents and my teammates on this team."
