Mott-Regent-New England senior Josh Wallace scored five touchdowns on Saturday, Oct. 14 to help the Wildfire to a 38-32 victory over Ray-Powers Lake in the 9-man football playoffs. Wallace rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns, he threw for 157 yards and another touchdown and he returned a kickoff 55 yards for another score.
DP: How long have you been playing football and what is your favorite part of the sport?
JW: "I've been playing football through high school and I just love running the ball and hitting people."
DP: Do you and your teammates have any kind of routine before a meet?
JW: "We like to say 'break' and we always have a pregame meeting where we talk about what our assignments are for each person."

DP: What kind of goals do you have for the rest of the season?
JW: "We just want to keep coming back each week and hopefully have a good game."
DP: What's one thing that most people wouldn't know about you?
JW: "I'm a Lord of the Rings fan."
DP: If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
JW: "If I could have one superpower it would probably be super strength, that'd be pretty fun."
DP: Who has been your biggest inspiration to succeed?
JW: "Probably my brothers for sure they've always taught me that you can do about anything no matter how big you are."
