Klaman hat trick thrusts DHS girls hockey over Jamestown
JAMESTOWN — Just 56 seconds into the second period, Dickinson High girls hockey sophomore defender Taia Klaman scored a shorthanded goal, giving the Midgets a 2-0 lead over Jamestown. Dickinson went on to win 4-1 over the Blue Jays on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Jamestown.
The first goal, scored halfway through the first frame by freshman Madison McChesney, was also shorthanded and Klaman earned the assist.
Halfway through the period, Klaman added another, this time assisted by freshman forward Audrey Nadvornik. With less one minute and 11 seconds remaining in the middle frame, Klaman completed the natural hat trick with an unassisted power play goal.
Jamestown took away the shutout with a goal from Abby Soulis 2:15 into the third, with Kylie Mitchell and Sydney Mittleider earning the assists.
