Midgets fall to Blizzard in non-conference game
Dickinson freshman goaltender Jayli Wandler made a whopping 39 saves, but even with that performance, the Dickinson High girls hockey team fell 5-1 to the Bismarck junior varsity team on Thursday, Jan. 11 at the West River Ice Center.
Bismarck scored three in the first period and added another in the second, all while the Midgets put up a total of eight shots.
After the Blizzard (6-2-3, 6-0-2 ND) put away the fourth goal of the game, Dickinson junior defender Taia Klaman broke through on the power play to eliminate the shutout eight minutes into the final frame. Results ThursdayBismarck JV 5, Dickinson 1B 3 1 1 — 5D 0 0 1 — 1FIRST PERIOD: 1, B, Noelle Martin, 1:37. 2, B, Martin (Cameron Schmidt), SH, 5:38. 3, B, Jayda Krikorian, 12:32.SECOND PERIOD: 4, B, Aliya Guetzfried, 5:48.THIRD PERIOD: 5, B, Martin (Ashley Guetzfried), 9:13. 1, D, Taia Klaman, PP, 8:00.SAVES: B, Aurora Johnson 4-0-x—4; Karsyn Hellman x-4-5—9.
