WILLISTON -- Dickinson junior Alex Huschka struck out seven and gave up just four hits to pick up his first varsity victory Tuesday.
Huschka pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up just two earned runs, while Taylor Thiel had two RBI's to lead the Midgets to a 6-3 West Region victory over Williston.
"Alex threw a good game. He had them off stride the whole game," Dickinson head coach Pete Dobitz said.
Senior Korey Kallenbach picked up the save, pitching 1 2/3 innings and had a RBI single in the first inning.
The Midgets (6-6, 4-2 West) scored two runs in the both the second, third and seventh innings. They scored a run on a wild pitch in the second and an error in the fourth.

Thiel had a RBI double in the third. He and James Kary each walked in a run in the seventh.
Williston (5-9, 2-6 West) put up seven runs in the first inning of a five-inning nonconference game to claim a 9-0 win.
"We'd like to see a little more consistency in all our games, but at least we're seeing a little more effort in our conference games," Dobitz said.
