MINOT - Spearheaded by a third-place finish by junior Brendan Johnson, the Dickinson High wrestling team finished sixth at the Class A West Region tournament on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Minot State University Dome.
The Midgets collected 139 points. Bismarck High topped the team scores with 260.5 points.
In the 132-pound weight class, Johnson defeated Dylan Barchenger, of Bismarck Century, by rule in the third place match.
At the 145-point weight class, Kolten Reisenauer, of Mandan bested Midgets junior Mathew Meschke by a 4-3 decision. After a 2-1 decision victory over Bismarck High’s Gage Roaldson in 152-pound division consolation semifinal, DHS junior Tate Nordby loss in 2:29 by fall to Minot’s Jacob Mortensen in the third place match.
Midgets junior Caleb Usher, freshman Tanner Jarrett and junior Kameron Clark were the other Dickinson wrestlers capturing fourth places finishes, in the 160-,170-, and 182-pound weight classes, respectively.
