Jung, Perkins, among Lions all-star selections

Dickinson High senior guard Gabby Jung and Mott-Regent guard-forward Cody Perkins were picked to participate in the 2019 Lions All-Star Basketball series. The games are set to take place on Monday, July 15, at Bismarck Legacy High School, and on Tuesday, July 16, at West Fargo High School.

Selected to the Class A girls team, Jung is coming off a senior campaign where she was second in the West Region in scoring at 19.4 points per game, and was fourth in steals at 2.6 per game. As a result, the 5-foot-10 guard earned a spot onto the All-State second team.   

Perkins also earned a spot on the All-State second team, as he wrapped up an impressive senior season by averaging 21.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. The 6-foot-3 wing player was named Region 7 Senior Athlete of the Year.

He will play on the Lions Class B boys team, while fellow Region 7 player, Beulah guard Chad Morsette Jr., was selected as an alternate. On the Class B girls team, Beulah guard Erin Walcker was picked for the roster, while Bowman County forward-center Ellie Stafford was chosen to be an alternate.
