MANDAN - Scoring her fourth hat trick over 10 games, Dickinson junior defender Taia Klaman helped her team to a 3-2 win over Mandan on Tuesday, Jan. 8.
The Braves (3-10, 2-9 ND) struck first with a goal just under six minutes into the game from sophomore Emily Froelich. Two and a half minutes later, Klaman scored her first goal. With an assist from junior forward Ali Lafond, Klaman put the Midgets (4-6, 4-5 ND) up 2-1 with a power play goal at the 14:30 mark.
Five minutes into the second frame, Ashley Patrick snuck one by Dickinson senior goaltender Baylee Kram. Kram was bombarded in the final frame by 21 shots, but saved them all, bringing her total saves to 38 on the night. Mandan goalie Autumn Sheetz stopped 21 shots.
Meanwhile, Klaman completed the hat trick with an unassisted score at 11:47 in the final stanza.
