With the wind howling, Belfield/South Heart couldn’t get much going against Hazen in their first district game of the year Tuesday night.
Coming off a loss on Sunday to Hettinger, the Knights lost 14-3 to drop to 0-2 on the young season.
“We just didn’t play well. We had a few bad breaks and mentally it kind of snowballed,” Kurt Silbernagel, the Knight head coach said. “We kind of regressed to where we were 2-3 years ago tonight, but we will move on to the next game and learn from this.”
Hazen scored in every inning, but it was the fourth inning that really got away from Belfield/South Heart.
The Astros plated eight runs making the score 13-1 after the top half of the inning.

The Knights answered with two runs, but it was not enough to overcome such a large deficit.
Ian Silbernagel and Tanner Obrigewitch both recorded two hits, while Obrigewitch had two RBI and scored a run.
Tyler Kastrow scored two runs with one, and Tarence Dillinger had one hit as well, while Tanner Jarrett and Austin Buckman each drew one walk on the night.
On the mound, throwing strikes was a problem for the Knights.
Obrigewitch recorded the loss as he gave up 10 hits and five bases on balls.
Shay Olson came in the game in relief and he walked four batters two hits and two runs in an inning and two-thirds of work.
Four Hazen batters recorded multiple hits in the contest.
The Knights will be back in action at home on Friday night to try and avenge their loss from last weekend against the Bears of Hettinger.

“We have to make routine plays. The first time we played Hettinger we played six good innings of baseball. Today we just didn’t show up to play. Hazen made plays and we didn’t.”
