Jesse Kongelf completed a hat trick with 70 seconds left in the second period as Minot cruised past Dickinson 12-2 in a North Dakota girls hockey game on Saturday at the Dickinson Recreation Center.
The Midgets (0-7, 0-6 state) got blue-line goals from Brittany Chamberlian in the first period and Rachel Lantz in the second period.
Taylor Hooker and Angie Lothspeich each had two goals and an assist for the Majettes (5-2, 5-2 state) while Hannah Thom had 19 saves.
Sophomore Kelsey Gillen, in her first start of the season, made 50 saves for the Midgets.
"Kelsey played real aggressively the whole game," Dickinson head coach Lauren Hansen said. "We were pretty happy with that, even with the points up on the board."
