MANDAN - Two third-period goals from Kamryn Kuntz came too late for the Dickinson High girls hockey team, which suffered a 4-2 loss at Mandan on Tuesday.
Kuntz, a sophomore, scored unassisted at the 9:35 mark, and off an assist from freshman Taia Klaman at the 12:54 mark of the third period to put the Midgets (3-9, 2-7 state) on the board, but the Braves already held a 4-0 advantage by that point.
“We started sluggish and struggled to get the puck out of our own end,” head coach Al Takle said.
Mandan (7-6-1, 4-6) received a goal in the first period from Maiah McCowan and goals in the middle period from Taley Davis and McKenna Quintus. Chaya Joersz scored 5:27 into the third period for the Braves’ final goal.
Dickinson goaltender Baylee Kram had 40 saves in the loss.
