HAZEN - Hazen did all of its scoring in the first half against Southern McLean on Friday, and the Bison came away with a 24-0 victory in Class 1A Region 4 play.
Tyson Van Inwagen got the scoring started with an 11-yard rush in the first quarter. In the second quarter, quarterback Payton Leintz tossed scoring passes to Jayce Zuern (14 yards) and Garret Weir (8 yards), and he added a field goal, to complete the scoring.
Leintz finished 7-of-14 passing for 71 yards. Zuern caught three of those balls for 34 yards.
Logan Schmitz and Cameron Hall each rushed for 49 yards for the Roughriders.
Hazen improves to 4-3 overall and 4-2 in the region. Southern McLean was dropped to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in the region.
