Dickinson State's Jay Liggins and Abby Honeyman earned the first North Star Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week honors, according to a news release Tuesday.
Liggins, a sophomore from Bismarck, won the triple jump and long jump at the Myrle Hanson Invitational last Friday in Spearfish, S.D. In the triple jump, he logged a measurement of 13.12 meters (43 feet, 0.5 inches), and in the long jump, he came in at 6.53 meters (21 feet, 5.25 inches).
Also on Friday, Honeyman, a junior from Regent, set a personal record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.17 seconds, which earned her first place. She also earned second place in the long jump with a leap of 4.99 meters.
