The Minot Ryan girls basketball team began and finished the season as the No. 1-ranked team in Class B.
The Lions - the defending North Dakota Class B girls state basketball champions - collected all 11 first-place votes for 110 points. Minot Ryan is the only school in Class B undefeated with a 19-0 record.
Thompson closed out the Class B poll in the No. 2 spot with an 18-1 record. Shiloh Christian (18-1) and Maple Valley (18-1) each climbed up one spot to Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. North Star (18-1) dropped two spots to round out the top five.
Carrington is the only newcomer to the list. The Cardinals are ranked in the No. 10 spot. Rolla, which was ranked No. 6 in last poll, fell out of the top 10 after losing back-to-back games against No. 6-ranked Lakota-Edmore and Rugby.
In Region 7, Beach (18-2) remained at the No. 7 spot. The Buccaneers received 42 points. Beach’s two losses on the seasons were to No. 3-ranked Shiloh Christian and No. 10-ranked Carrington.
Dickinson Trinity (16-4) received votes.
