The top of Dickinson High's lineup made quick work of Jamestown and helped the Midgets cruise to a West Region victory on their home courts.

Dickinson gave up just five sets in its top four singles matches to beat the Blue Jays 7-2 in its regular-season finale Friday afternoon.

"It's nice to end the year on a good note, with a victory," Midgets co-coach Carter Fong said.

Seniors Luke Van Ells and Kyle Rummel dominated their singles matches before teaming up to win again at No. 1 doubles. Van Ells beat Matt Graves 6-1, 6-0 and Rummel swept Ryan Sanders 6-0, 6-0. The Dickinson duo then beat Cameron Love and Alex Reed 6-0, 6-2.

Dickinson (4-4 overall, 3-4 West) now goes to the West Region tournament, which begins Thursday in Bismarck.
