BOTTINEAU - For the second consecutive season, the Dickinson boys hockey team has picked up victories in its first three games of the year. The Midgets’ latest triumph came at the expense of Bottineau-Rugby, as the they collected three goals in the second period and two more in the third during a 5-0 win on Saturday, Dec. 1, from the Community Arena Lumberdome.

Senior forward Cody Shepard opened the scoring midway through the second after receiving an assist from freshman defender Quentin Lewis. Two minutes later, Shepard assisted on a goal from senior forward Ryan Bren. Shepard notched his second goal with a tick under five minutes remaining on the period, with helpers by Bren and senior forward Tanner Giese.

Sophomore Landon Aman and senior captain forward Brayden Groll added scores in the third, contributing more than enough offense for senior goaltender Jarin Naab, who stopped 21 shots in net for the shutout.

Braves sophomore goaltender Tyler Olson had 34 saves.
