BISMARCK -- Errors cost the Dickinson High softball team in its three losses Saturday at the East-West Crossover.
The Midgets committed 14 errors on the day.
"We were getting errors from players where we weren't expecting it," Dickinson head coach Bill Butterfield said.
Defending state champions West Fargo went right at the Midgets in the first game as it won 10-0 in five innings. The Packers took a five-run lead after two innings.
In the second game, the Midgets were within reach until the seventh inning as Fargo North surged to a 12-6 win.

The Spartans put up five runs in the seventh, turning a 7-4 lead into a 12-4 advantage.
Fargo Shanley didn't score an earned run in its 4-3 win over Dickinson in the final game of the day.
With the game tied at 2 heading into the seventh, an error led to the Deacons' final two runs.
"The biggest thing is just cutting back on errors," Butterfield said.
The Midgets had their chances, as eighth-grader Rachel Jahner hit a RBI single to cut Shanley's lead to one. But Dickinson couldn't get Jahner into scoring position.
Dickinson (2-3) faces Sidney, Mont., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gress Complex.
