DEVILS LAKE -- Three different players scored for the Dickinson girls hockey team as it nearly shut out Devils Lake on Saturday.
The Firebirds got on the board midway through the third period during a scuffle in front of Midgets goaltender Ashley Ludwig, capping the scoring in Dickinson's 3-1 victory.
Kira Kuntz and Madison Kinzel scored goals within 2 minutes of each other late in the second period to give Dickinson a boost.
"We got rolling after the second period," Dickinson coach Chris Coates said. "We got some goals in and the girls started working harder."
Brittney Meyer added a goal in the third period and Ashley Huestis scored Devils Lake's lone goal a little more than a minute later.

Ludwig had 21 saves in the victory. The Midgets host Mandan at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
