Midgets’ Johnson goes undefeated in Metro Duals

FARGO -  The Dickinson High wrestling team went 4-1 at the Metro Duals in Fargo on Friday Jan. 19 and Saturday Jan. 20.

The Midgets defeated Devils Lake, Carrington, West Fargo Sheyenne and Grand Forks Central and fell to Turtle Mountain. They bested their opponents by a combined total of 225-136.

Brendan Johnson, Todd Irwin and Koletan Hafey all went undefeated going 5-0, 4-0 and 3-0, respectively.

Johnson won four of his five matches by way of fall, with the fifth being an 8-2 victory. Irwin won two of his matches by pin with the other wins coming by 12-7 and 5-2 decisions.

Jaren Berger in the 120-pound bracket and 285-pound Hunter Wilson both went 4-for-1 while Garrett Usher and Tanner Jarrett both went 3-2 over the weekend.
