Midgets volleyball season ends at West Region tourney

MINOT -- The Dickinson High volleyball team saw its season end Friday following a five-set loss to Mandan in the consolation side of the West Region Volleyball Tournament bracket.

MINOT - The Dickinson High volleyball team saw its season end Friday following a five-set loss to Mandan in the consolation side of the West Region Volleyball Tournament bracket.

The Midgets, seeded seventh, won the second and fourth sets by 25-18 scores. The Braves, seeded sixth, won the first and third sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-22, respectively. Mandan kept its season alive with a 15-8 win in the decisive fifth set.

Mariah Mortensen led Dickinson with 13 kills, Lexi Jordheim followed with nine, and Morgan Kainz and Peyton Selle supplied six and five, respectively. Mortensen also had six blocks.

Sarah Dobitz had 35 digs for the Midgets, and Lauren Jorda had 26 assists.
