GRAND FORKS -- The University of North Dakota football team's game Saturday, April 3, against Missouri State has been canceled.

The Missouri Valley Football Conference has canceled the game due to COVID-19 issues within the UND program, and the game will not be made up as the teams don't share open dates during the rest of the season.

The Fighting Hawks are ranked No. 6 in the latest STATS FCS poll. Playing in the program's first season in the MVFC, UND has gone 4-1 this spring, with wins over Southern Illinois, South Dakota State, South Dakota and Western Illinois.

UND football out again

The Hawks' lone loss was at North Dakota State.

UND was scheduled to play last Saturday morning at Youngstown State, but the game was called off Friday morning after a positive test within UND's travel party.

UND was scheduled to have one final home game -- against Missouri State at 11 a.m. this Saturday in the Alerus Center. After the Youngstown State game was called off, the game was rescheduled for April 17, an open weekend in the schedule for COVID makeup games.
