NEW ENGLAND - After starting out to an even score in the first half, New England did just enough in the third quarter to grab the win.
The No. 8-seeded Tigers and No. 9-seeded Beulah were stride for stride in every quarter, but the New England girls basketball team found a way to get the 48-45 win Friday in its Region 7 tournament play-in game.
Beulah and New England both scored 14, six and 14 points in the first, second and fourth quarters, respectively. But New England put together a 14-point third for the difference.
The Tigers were fueled by junior forward Julian Schon’s 11 points, while junior guard Adrienne Roller and senior guard Jenna Ehlis both scored 10.
Miners sophomore forward Dayton Keltner led her team with nine points.
