NEW ENGLAND - Three players scored in double-figures for the New England boys basketball team Tuesday as it picked up a 62-52 win against Lemmon (S.D.).
Senior guard Brady Bender scored 17 points to lead the Tigers, and junior forward Cody Holt added 16 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Senior guard Hunter Wolf also scored 14 points for New England. Bender also had seven assists.
Jace Kocer led the Cowboys with 20 points in the loss.
Lemmon played the Tigers tight in the first half, and only trailed by five entering the fourth, but New England outscored the Cowboys 17-12 in the final eight minutes to push the winning margin into double digits.
Senior Mason Petri added eight points for New England, and classmate Dakota Mansfield had two points. Sophomore Denit Sorenson notched five points to complete New England’s scoring.
