SCRANTON - Holding the lead from the second quarter on, the Hettinger-Scranton football team captured its first Region 5 victory of the season after collecting a 24-20 homecoming night win over Mott-Regent-New England on Friday, Sept. 14 from Scranton High School.

Sophomore quarterback Jeran Anderson, playing in place of injured senior Jaxon Mellmer, accounted for all of the Night Hawks scores of the night.

In the second quarter, Anderson connected with senior running back Jacob Dix on a 17-yard touchdown reception for the game’s opening score. Anderson then completed a pass to senior wide receiver Kyle Burwick for the two-point conversion.
