BENSENVILLE, Ill. -- Grand Forks Central's Jake Plutowski scored a hat trick including the final two goals of the game as Team North Dakota downed Team Philadelphia 6-4 at the 2009 Chicago Showcase.
The trio of goals gives Plutowski five in two games as North Dakota improves to 2-0 and plays Illinois at 4 p.m. today.
North Dakota goalie Joel Otto, of Dickinson, allowed four goals and picked up 15 saves in the victory, which wasn't clinched until the final 40 seconds of the game.
Both teams scored once in the first period, but Philadelphia outscored North Dakota 3-1 in the second period.
Trailing 4-2 going into the third, North Dakota fired back with four goals including two from Plutowski in the final 5 minutes, 6 seconds to clinch it.
